From the Sea to the Stars

For this piece, I made images with an enlarger as my camera. I decided to do photograms of sand, shells, and water because a fair amount of my work has to do with the beach and ocean. Balance is really important for me in my day-to-day life so it's no surprise that it is important to me in my art as well. With this piece I wanted to express the connections between the sea and the stars, as well as how small we appear in the vastness of space. It also contrasts my previous work with the ocean because this looks more scientific and sterile.
